Six weeks after the first public presentation at an international fair Aero-Expo in Friedrichshafen (Germany), the airplane demonstration, "eGenius", made by technology, funded by Airbus, made its maiden flight after taking off from airports in Mindelheim (Bavaria, Germany). During the 20-minute flight was checked mainly handling characteristics and a unique propulsion system. Airplane "eGenius" equipped with an electric propulsion system, the upper limit of the flight is at 60 kW. During the subsequent series of test flights would be enlarged envelope flights, as far as testing the performance and reliability of electric power in the air. Work on the prototype "eGenius", designed by the Design Institute of Aviation University of Stuttgart (Germany), are supported by Airbus as the main sponsor of the emissions reduction program and the development of greener aviation industry.
